Oh, I'm tired. So tired. In all of my history of motherhood, I don't think I have ever been as spent as I am tonight. Today, we had 17 little girls show up on our doorstep for Olivia's birthday. If you count Olivia, that makes a party of 18. EIGHTEEN. I don't even know how that happened. She wanted to invite all the girls in her class, which were ten, then we threw in a few more friends from the neighborhood, and every single one of them showed up. Even the two who said they weren't coming.
My sore back, aching feet and fuzzy head are all worth it though, when Olivia tells me it was a pretty awesome amazing day. Right now she is sitting on the couch in her new Rapunzel nightgown, playing with the coveted Merliah Barbie Mermaid that she wanted so so bad, and watching the Mermaid movie. She should be in bed, but after the day she had, she needs a little down time..
This was a few days before her birthday. She wished herself a happy seventh birthday in the bathtub.
Her last bed time tuck in as a six year old....
The Birth Day started early, when, as requested, she was served breakfast in bed. What a diva.I sense a new trend starting.
I am ridiculously proud of these cupcakes. |
In all the chaos of the party, (did I mention there were EIGHTEEN kids there), I neglected to get a group shot of everybody. In fact, if it wasn't for Will, who took on the job of photographer, I wouldn't have had any pictures at all. So thank you Will. Here is part of the group trying on their newly crafted crowns.
Olivia opted to dress as Belle for this event. She hasn't been too into dressing up lately, but her best friend Cassie came dressed as a princess, and Serra was a cat. Olivia could not be shown up at her own party.
We had a treasure hunt and played some games in the backyard. Thank you Mother Nature for a day that we could play outside. If it had rained I probably would have been locked away in a strait jacket this evening.
I don't know that these pictures really capture the breadth and scope of it all. It was seriously insane. Fun, but just nuts. 90 minutes of colossal crazy.
Please take notice of the throne the Birthday Girl got to enjoy during her reign. Am I clever or what?
cutest seven year old ever! |
And then, after the party ended, it was on to Round Two. We put her to work decorating her own cake |
Part of her adoring audience. What would a birthday be without these two? Plus they brought dinner. Double bonus.
I think she may be a natural at the cake decorating thing. She got the hang of it right off
The finished masterpiece! And a proud girl.
MORE presents? Are you kidding me?
Shoes? |
Clothes? |
Ahh, that's more like it |
What? More shoes? |
Finally! The one she was waiting for! |
Sleep tight, sweet seven year old. |
