Living on the Edge

It may not be completely original, but I still think I am pretty darn clever for coming up with the new title of our blog. First off, it's part of a quote from that all-time classic movie, The Sure Thing: "I'm a guy who likes to live on the edge." Second, it refers to where we live geographically, which is literally on the edges of both the Great Salt Lake, and the city of Syracuse. I can see the lake from the road I live on. And the boundary between Syracuse and Layton is a five minute walk from my front door. Next year, the kids will walk from the edge of Syracuse to attend school on the edge of Layton-We are on the edge of four different school boundaries AND the edge of the region for our church.

And then there are the other edges that we walk along every day, like the edge of reason, the edge of financial ruin, the edge of catastrophe. But somehow, with probably more help than we realize, we have survived so far, without any major falls.

There are some edges I don't really mind living on. There are others that I hope to step away from sometime soon.
