Today was the fundraiser walk for Autism Speaks. Our whole family, along with about 1000 other families, turned out to Heritage Park, where they had all kinds of info booths, balloons, fun kid activities and awareness stuff going on. Turns out that with the crowds, loud music, freezing cold and rain, and general sensory overload, it was an autistic kid's worst nightmare.
I can't say Duncan had a great time. He would most definitely have preferred to stay at home with his video games. But hey, we were out, together, getting a little exercise and doing something worthwhile.
We have decided that NEXT YEAR, the sun will shine, we will have matching t-shirts and billboards, and raise more money. Duncan doesn't want to think about next year yet.
After the walk, we wound up out at Cedar Fort, where Grandpa Dan was doing his bluegrass radio show from the basement. So the kids all got to be on the radio with Grandpa.

Apparently, Olivia has inherited her grandpa's love of bluegrass, as she would not stop dancing and grooving the whole time the music was playing.
Then, we decided to get a leg up on Mothers Day, and took Grandma Linda to lunch for her Mother's Day present.
And, once again, Olivia became the star of the show by throwing a temper tantrum over not getting her picture taken enough.
