Acclimating

Tuesday the sixth marked a month since we moved.

We have celebrated a birthday and a holiday in our new house. We have knocked holes in the walls, plugged in the downstairs freezer, and moved in the cats.

Today I got the last box out of the living room. We hung up the big mirror and the bathroom clock. Dan put up the trampoline, and there are planters on my front porch. Audrey met some girls in the neighborhood and went off to play hide and seek tonight.

Dare I admit we are settling in?

Last night we went to Target. It's about a 15 minute drive from our house. On the way, we passed an absolute smorgasbord of places to eat and shop, places I have never heard of, let alone visited.

Today we went to lunch with Dan, then hit the planetarium, played in the fountain at the Gateway, grabbed some smoothies and were home in time to cook dinner.

I have missed Salt Lake City.

P.S. Duncan, who is the non-fruit-eater in our family, was happily sucking down his Jamba juice today, until the very end, when he sucked up a chunk of fruit: "Oh, disgusting, this is made with real fruit!" He has vowed that never again will he be so taken in.

Dang, I thought I had him.
