Digging

I think I am done.

I am not quite sure what all I am going to be done with, but I am definitely done with some things.
Like flying solo on all of the crap that goes on around here in the course of a week. Just today there was dog vomit, a carpool, an early morning blood test with a very unwilling participant, a four year old who did not get up in time to eat her Cinnamon Toast Crunch and punished me all morning because of it, car repairs, chauffeur service, and a dance class with Valentines. And that was all before ten a.m. After work, there was a clogged toilet and a flooded bathroom floor, a science project, dinner, and about 3 million different conversations to attend to.

I would say that I think after four years, it is my turn to spend the majority of my weeknights going to movies, playing video games, and working out at the gym, but that would be very passive- aggressive of me. And would lead to a discussion that would probably turn into an argument that would go nowhere and accomplish nothing. And I don't have the energy for any of that.

So, I will just say that along with moving into a new house, I hope, and expect, that we are also moving into a new era of family togetherness and cooperation. Does that sound better? Does that frame things in a more positive light?

And speaking of moving, apparently there is talk of a CLOSING being scheduled for next week. But that crazy talk is coming from the agent, who (I think) is hankering after a commission. I won't believe any such thing until I get the official word from my mortgage broker that the bank is finally finished rummaging through my underwear drawer and has approved the loan. And that would be a very nice thing to be done with.
