Last night we were all in the kitchen, attempting to drum up some Christmas spirit by making sugar cookies. Probably not the best antidote for the December doldrums, but it was the best we could do at the moment. Olivia had a kitchen chair pulled up to the counter so she could "help" which mostly involved her cramming handful after handful of cookie dough into her mouth when she thought nobody was looking. Then she suddenly announced that she had to go to the bathroom. As she climbed off the chair, she said, in a loud and serious voice, "Mom, you're in charge while I'm gone."
Nice to know she trusts me.
It was very late by the time we got the cookies done. So we had them for breakfast this morning.
