That old St. Nick (and company) seems to have outdone himself once again, and left us with a goodly supply of video games, castles, sweaters, books, mermaid dolls, space heaters and stuffed animals. I really don't know how that old Santa does it year after year, especially in a bad economy. I sure hope he knows what his bottom line is.

In the middle of all the
hullaballoo and decadence, Audrey gave me and Dan a little box. Inside was a painted salt dough figure of the Baby Jesus that she had made. It was my favorite gift, and a great reminder, in the middle of everything else, of the best gift any of us will ever get.

I'm going to keep it out all year long.
