Monday night's dinner consisted of french fries and oatmeal cookies, both homemade. Last night was Campbell's chicken noodle soup. So I was thinking tonight I should be scrambling up something that is at least moderately nutritious. Then I happened to see that seven pound bag of Swedish Fish on Will's bed. It was alarmingly lightweight. I really hope he has been sharing those fish, and not eating them all by himself. If he has shared them, nobody will be interested in dinner. If he hasn't been sharing them, and has eaten that many by himself, he may need some kind of special blessing on his poor pancreas.
Tucked alongside the bag of fish on his bed was a half eaten box of Cheeze-Its. Duncan has a candy cache in his bed too, and the older two kids are known stashers of Oreos and Pop Tarts. I don't know if the storing junk food in your bedroom idea comes from being part of a big ravenous family, or if it is a trait they inherited from their father. Dan is a big junk food hoarder. He has been known to hold on to a package of Oreos for so long that they actually went stale. I have no schema for stale Oreos. That just would not happen to any Oreo I was in charge of. My personal philosophy of junk food is just eat it, get it out of the way, and start planning for the next round.
So back to dinner: Olivia will of course be having the usual: Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It looks like the rest of us will be having a selection of rolls tonight- pizza or mini egg. I'm cleaning out the freezer and that is about as good as it gets. Hope that sits okay with Swedish Fish. Guess nutritious will wait for another day.
