And We're Missing the Ward Campout

Most Fridays around here will find at least one extra kid spending the night in my house, but not tonight- I played offense this week, and on Thursday morning cancelled all of the weekend's sleepover requests before they even happened. Well, Duncan is spending the night at a friends, but that doesn't count, for two reasons. One, he rarely has sleepovers, and two, it is not occuring at my house.

What is occurring at my house tonight are several things: Dan and I are off to the open house of the new Texas Road House, for some media thing. We get a free meal and a tour. I've never been to a Texas Roadhouse, but it had better live up to the hype everyone is giving it. It's kind of sad that there really isn't anything better to do in Cache Valley than to get all worked up over another new overpriced franchise opening.

Mitch got off work early(he got a job-hooray!!) and is going to the EMT class at the tech college tonight to be a fake patient. That ought to be good. He wants to take the EMT class, but it doesn't start again until March, so in the meantime, being the class guinea pig is the next best thing.

Audrey and Olivia just finished watching Labyrinth. Yes, Labyrinth. That weird David Bowie fantasy flick from the eighties. I've never watched the whole thing, but I have seen enough to know that I have seen enough. Audrey borrowed it from a friend. I hope they aren't scarred for life after this. I figure they survived Gremlins last week with no lasting effects, so they should be okay with this one. Labyrinth is definitely much higher on the weird scale, but at least Santa doesn't die.

Then we are all up bright and early at 8 am tomorrow morning to go clean the church. Gotta teach those kids responsibility. Oh, and the bishop displayed some righteous indignation and chewed everybody out last week for not showing up when it was their turn.
