Packing It In

If I am still the proud owner of my 1984-85 high school pep club uniform, does that make me a pack rat?

How about Dan's missionary suit, also circa 1984? Is that something we should keep for posterity, or is it time to say goodbye?

What is the protocol for dealing with the food storage we inherited from our neighbors when THEY moved? Do we pass it along or take it with us when we move?

These are the burning questions we face as we have started to clean things out and up a bit in preparation for a possible move.

There are ten (10!) brand new big plastic storage totes from Walmart sitting in my garage, neatly packed (and labeled on all sides) with everything from the kids rooms that I thought they could live without for the next 3-6 months. The problem is, when I look into their rooms, I can't tell anything is missing.

So I am having a serious talking-to with myself about what the rules are going to be for what stays and what goes. And as soon as I figure out what those rules are, I will let myself know....

And speaking of rules, I broke one today when I forgot to lock the bathroom door while I was showering. I was in the middle of washing my hair when I heard the bathroom door open, and moments later, there is Olivia, sticking her head in my shower. She totally ignored me when I told her to go back out and shut the door, and then she starts commenting on various aspects of my body. I will preserve my dignity, and hers, by not being more specific on her comments, but she was definitely not impressed by what she saw. I hope she has a short memory.
