Fits of Cleanliness and Creativity

BEFORE:

...AND AFTER

In honor of our Suburban's homecoming from the car hospital, which should be Monday, I decided to clean out the garage today. Things were literally falling out of the garage door, it was so messy and cluttered. Now though, it is nice and clean, and our little Nissan is very happily parked inside tonight...it is embarrassing to admit how messy it was, but I'm sure its not the only dirty garage in America.

I also had a burst of craftiness today, and dragged my poor forgotton sewing machine upstairs for a little workout. I made headbands for Audrey and Olivia and their friend Alicia. They turned out great, and were really fun and easy until my sewing machine decided to throw a hissy fit and get all jammed up. That is when I quit. And that is when I was reminded of what I hate about sewing. I should probably post pictures of the cute headbands rather than my stupid garage, but I didn't take pictures of the headbands. Don't ask me why I took pictures of the garage...maybe I needed proof that I actually accomplished something today. So much of "mom work" gets undone before the end of the day, and you can never really show anybody what you did. Which is why I would rather spend all day working in my yard than in my house. Yard work at least looks good for a few days. Housework looks good for a few seconds.

And I wore my red Ute yoga pants today, in honor of the U of U vs. USU football game, which is happening right now, just blocks from my house. Well, okay, so it was actually just a coincidence- I didn't know they were playing today until after I was dressed. But I LEFT them in on in honor of the Utes. Even though I hate when the alumni association calls me, asking for money. I have yet to see any big bucks come my way from that BS psychology degree. Really, BS.
