Summer Adventures Episode II

Even though the temperatures felt more like late March than early June, today was one of those days that is everything a summer vacation day should be.

We made an attempt at getting out of the house "early" today, which turned into us leaving around noon.  We called our friends to see if they wanted to go to the park with us to feed ducks.  They said they couldn't go with us because they were going to Lagoon, so that was sad.  Then they called back and said they would rather go to the park with us!  We were so happy!  When we went to pick them up, only Audrey's friend came out.  Olivia's friend had decided to go to Lagoon after all.  So that was sad.  Then, about 5 minutes after we left, Olivia's friend called my cell phone.  She had changed her mind, and wanted to come with us instead! So we turned around and went back for her, and we were all happy once again.

Then  we hung out at the park for a few hours, saw some baby ducks, fell in the water, played assassins in the forest and found some new secret hideouts.

The day just got better from there. In fact, this may be the best day of Olivia's life so far.  We accidentally had ice cream for lunch, then we came back to our house where the girls spent the rest of the day jumping on the trampoline, playing dress up, baby reindeer and mermaids, and eating ramen for dinner.  The evening was complete when both of us moms agreed to a late night, complete with movies and popcorn and jammies.  We even got to go shopping at a neighbors Paparazzi party and got some cool rings and bracelets.  Now Olivia and her friend are happily ensconced in the family room with their blankets and pillow pets and singing along to Tangled.  Audrey and her friend are at the other house, with their own brand of girl fun going on.

Will took off for a friends house this afternoon and has not been heard from since.  Duncan and Mitch are downstairs playing video games. Dan is at a movie. So it's been an all-out girl's night around here tonight.  And now I am taking a stab at making my first ever cake roll, so we'll even have chocolate, which will absolutely perfect the evening.

Hopefully, this perfect summer day will make up for tomorrow, when I am back at work, and Mitch is in charge;)
