Yesterday was the first Monday of summer break. We took advantage of the hot weather to head downtown to the planetarium, so we could get our solar viewing glasses for the Venus show that is supposed to be visible in the sky tonight, but which the crappy weather is probably going to ruin.
Must have the obligatory photos of the moon and Mars at the Planetarium.
Olivia is holding her breath. There is no oxygen on the moon you know.
After we saw enough of the planetarium, we headed over to City Creek so the kids could play in the fountains, something Olivia was really excited about.
Until we got there. Then, for some unknown reason, she went into one of her funks, and WOULD NOT get wet for anything.
We were all a little hot and tired and thirsty at this point, but apparently some of my kids are too cool to splash in the fountains.
Eventually, the call of the water won out over poutiness and coolness and we all wound up with our hands and feet in the water.
Oh, and here is everybody in their ultra cool solar viewing glasses. We are supposed to wear these tonight so we can see Venus pass in front of the sun.
Oh well. At least we took advantage of the sun yesterday. Today the girls are playing with friends. I cleaned out our art supplies drawer and they are making puppets out of all the leftover stuff. The boys are lounging and watching some sort of video game awards show. Me, I am mulling over how to pay my way to Haiti in October.....
