Six Snippets

You know what I HATE?  Days like today, when it's freezing cold and the wind is turned up to  HIGH, but  the sun is shining and the sky is blue.  Weather like that makes me want to punch somebody, especially when the stupid wind blows over all the lovely ornamental grasses and purple spirea that I planted in front of the porch and that was looking so darn good, and now they look like a fat guy sat on them.

This was an actual conversation that took place in my bedroom last night:

Me: Olivia, which Disney princess do you think looks the most like you?

Olivia: Mmm, Cinderella.

Me: Yeah, I would say either Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, because you all have blond hair.

Olivia: Oh no, I think definitely Cinderella. I don't have lips that shame the red red rose.

Will is speaking in church tomorrow.  He says he has his talk all written, but I have not seen it or heard it.  Should be interesting.

School gets out on Friday.  Yes, it was a fast, fun year, but so exhausting.  Someday I will look back on this year with fondness, but right now,  you couldn't pay me to live it over again.  Next year, we have an almost college sophomore, an almost college senior (yikes) a senior in high school, two, count 'em TWO junior highers, and a second grader.  Wow. Just typing that out made me want a nap.

 We are having pancakes for dinner.   The kids love pancakes for dinner, but we can only do it when Dan isn't here.  He refuses to eat breakfast for dinner, one of the few things he is picky about.  But he's working tonight, so bring out the Bisquick and maple syrup!

Well, I got one of my wishes.  The sun is no longer out, and it's cloudy and grey out there now.  I feel much better.
