Thankful Round Two

Friday was a lovely lazy day of laying around not doing much of anything.  In a nod to the approaching season, I did grace the front of my garage with two wreaths that were on sale at Home Depot for $5.  That may be the extent of our decorative offerings this year, but I think it looks rather festive.

Friday night we wound up heading up to Logan to go the the viewing of the daughter of some old friends of ours from up there.  She died completely unexpectedly, and it has hit them hard, to say the least.  It was awful, and once again, makes us take stock of our blessings.   Then on the way home, we stopped in Brigham to pop in our super plumber cop friend who was in a bad accident about a month ago and is  having some pretty heavy struggles of his own.  Such a good guy.  I hope things work out for him.  These friends are the types that have stepped in for us when we needed them, and solved problems for us.  I wish I could do the same for them now, but unfortunately, some things you just can't make all better.

Saturday was Thanksgiving leftovers at Grandma Sally's.  Thanksgiving always tastes better the second time around!

We tried, and failed, to save a piece of pumpkin pie for Alisa.

After dinner, we started in on Christmas movies and gingerbread  house building.  We were supposed to wait and do the gingerbread thing with the cousins, but Olivia would have exploded if some sort of Christmas activity did not get accomplished this weekend.  So these are our practice gingerbread shacks, and we will splurge another $9.00 on another of these amazing little Walmart kits for our gingerbread day with cousins.

They turned out really cute.  I will snap another shot when we get them set up at  home.   This has been such a great, relaxing weekend.   I only wish we could do it all over this week.
