Thankful Overload

Alisa, you asked for lots of pictures. And that is  all I have to say.  These are in totally random order, I don't know why.  But it will give you a good idea of the chaos and cacophony that marked Thanksgiving 2011.  It was awesome.

Linda's David, entertaining himself after dinner with the nursery rhyme doll.
Stockton, Audrey and Sydney, mountaineers extrordinaire

Ryan made it up this time too.

The old homestead, in all it's November glory.

Olivia made this little turkey especially for her favorite Aunt Amy.  Amy is everybody's favorite though.

Cousins!!

More Cousins!!
 Sweet Lydia

Diggin in

Turkey Man
The Thankful Tree.  We were all very thankful that somebody had the foresight to forego the traditional corn on the plate idea, and just have everybody write their thankfuls on paper leaves and hang them on the tree.  Much quicker, and we actually got hot food this year!

Yay food. yay sisters in law!

Steve was our stand in for Alisa this year.  He performed admirably in his role.  He got some practice in last year too, so he knew what he was up against.

On the way out the door for some shootin'

Pie!

The new dog Muffy.  She is very sweet and  shy.

Guarding that whipped cream.

Olivia got Tangled from Grandma Linda....so Happy!!!

 Dad's new toy
And the  DuncMan!

It was actually a very nice Thanksgiving.  No tempers flared, it wrapped up pretty quickly, and everybody was nice to each other this year. Putting 33 or so Metcalf-Kellys-McAvoys in one house can be a dangerous proposition, but everything was quite lovely and enjoyable, except for the fact that we missed our Alisa terribly and her cousin trio of Kelsey and Sarai.  Knowing that Alisa was on her way to Rome helped a lot.  And hearing that she has landed a JOB teaching English to French students next semester helped too.  Life was good today, and we have lots to be thankful for.

Tonight, we have traded Audrey and Olivia for Jacek, so tomorrow should be a pretty low key day at our house.  Dan is working, but I'm off, and I may do nothing but vegetate in my bed all day.  Either that or paint the basement. Decisions, decisions.  I'm just thankful to have a day off!
