Meet the cutest birthday present you'll ever see:
And in case you missed the message:
Inside this artful wrapping was Olivia's new copy of The Wizard of Oz. She decided to give it to her dad for his birthday. Which was nice of her, since it was the only present he got. We did go out to dinner and took the kids to see Puss in Boots. A family movie is a tradition on Dad's birthday, since he is the ultimate movie guy, and there is usually a good kid flick that comes out around his birthday. I don't have any pictures of the birthday boy, but I do have pictures of the pumpkins we re-lit on the first of November. I am sad to report that I did not get any visits from my grandmas that night. But Maggie's eyes were glowing eerily.
So now it's November 3rd, and all of our Halloween crap is still up. It might be Saturday before it comes down. It might be Tuesday before it comes down, if it snows on Saturday, like it's supposed to. Olivia has not missed a beat- she went directly from littering the house with pictures of pumpkins on Monday to littering the house with pictures of turkeys on Tuesday. Tonight is Thursday and she has already moved on to Santa Claus. She has her Christmas list all made out, and is now asking how many days til her birthday. Life moves fast when you are six!

I think I'm going to leave my Halloween decorations up all year.
