So. What happened today, Mr. Sixth of July, that makes you worth remembering?
Hm.
I worked an extra shift in Salt Lake today. But the only thing worth remembering about that is to NOT take any more extra work shifts in July. July is not a good month for working extra hours, because something better to do will always come up. You could point out that I am only paying my dues, and that between skydiving, car repairs, holiday jaunts to Logan, and Howard Jones tickets, (July 9!!! eeek!) our budget is a leeetle stretched right now. You could point out that my bank account will thank me for my token efforts today. But sometimes, working just really crimps my style.
Today is our 16 month anniversary of moving to Syracuse, and in honor of that random date, I learned how to program our sprinkler system. I was really hoping that somebody else (DAN) might take on that task, but alas, it never happened. All last summer, the sprinklers came on seven days a week for 10 minutes at each station. Can you say overwatering? Kind of defeats the purpose of an automatic sprinkler system, dontcha think? Now, fingers crossed, if I did my job correctly, they are going to come on every three days and water different amounts of time for each station.
There are still dead spots in our lawn though, where the sprinklers don't hit. I guess my next step will be to figure out that part too. I already know how to pull them up and change the filters. Which is really more than I ever wanted to know about sprinklers. But dang I feel handy!
That's about it for the Sixth. It's time now for my nightly date with my front porch, the moon, and the mosquitoes.
