Our busy July continues. At 2:30 this afternoon, we had the brilliant idea that it would be great fun to get a hotel room in Logan tonight. By 3:15, (record time for us) we had reservations made, and four kids packed and in the car. At 3:20, we were still sitting in the driveway, trying to get the garage door to shut. I hate our garage door. It can be very temperamental in bright sunlight. It gets half way down, then changes it's mind and goes back up. Then it goes a third of the way down then changes it's mind. I would have given up, but Dan kept at it until he finally sweet-talked the stupid thing into into closing all the way. But by 3:25, we were on the road. By 3:30, I realized I forgot my purse so it was back home again. Still, we made it up here in time for me to take a quick dip in the pool and get into work by 5. Now here we are, hanging in the hotel room watching a Mr. Bean movie and eating pizza and Oreos. Alisa and Bennett dropped by for a bit on their way back from Bear Lake. We forgot a hairbrush and the kids have broken the bathroom drain already. Will tried his best to connive us into letting him have a sleepover tonight with some of his Logan buds, but we have held strong and are determined to have a mini family-only getaway and have a good time doing it darn it!
Tomorrow, we plan on the big decision of the day being whether to swim at the pool or go to the parade. So far, the decision is split. We might have to vote on it.
