Carpe-ing our Diem

This house is a disaster.  We've been so busy working and playing and constructing things that we haven't even thought about cleaning house for at least a week.  We haven't been home enough to mind it too much, other than the lack of clean clothes, but between the laundry, the bathrooms, the kitchen and the dog hair,  I have a good three days worth of hard labor piled up waiting for me.  So, when we got up this morning, and finally had a free day with no plans, we buckled down and did what we had to do:  we went to the pool.

Really, what else could we do? We do have a summer bucket list to conquer, and July is sneaking out on us. We are going to be out of summer before we know it. We can't pick the best pool in Davis county if we haven't visited them all now, can we?  Come to think of it though, the last couple of pools we have visited weren't even in Davis county.  we are going to have to edit that bucket list item to the best pool in the Tri-County area, tri being Davis, Weber and Salt Lake.

My house may have the last laugh though.  I'm pretty sure I broke my toe today, in an epic splash battle with Will.  It is killing me right now, and is twice the size that it should be.  Gimping around trying to get caught up on chores with a busted toe would be really funny now, wouldn't it?  I can almost hear those dust bunnies laughing at me.  But guess what?  We're not staying home tomorrow either.  We are going to a parade.  And if the weather is good on Sunday, we will find something else to do. And when I DO finally stay home, I'm going to be in the basement, putting in insulation.  Take that, you stupid messy house. I'll see YOU in October.
