Snowing and Swimming

This should not come as a surprise to any self respecting Utah native, but it is SNOWING outside right now.  And even though it's not surprising, snow on the 7th of April tends to make all of us a little indignant.  The snow didn't stop us from making a trip to the pool today though.  It's always fun to watch the snowflakes fly through the steamy pool windows.   And now, we are using the snow as an excuse to camp out on the couch in our pjs, watching Star Wars and eating peanut M&M's.

Audrey and I swam some laps at the pool, and I am proud as punch to say she kicked my butt.   I'm also pretty sure we are all but done with the kiddie pool, as Olivia is now a full on, face-down, legs-and-arms-in- motion, coming-up- for-air swimmer.   She just jumps in and goes for it, and she is right at that place where her fearlessness  just slightly outpaces her skill level.  That makes watching her a bit hair-raising at times, but we mostly just let her go for it and see what she can do.  It's good practice for all of us.

The rest of today will be spent delivering girls to Grandma's house for the weekend and trying to come to grips with the fact that I have to work tomorrow.  Spring break, you are flying by too fast.  Monday morning is going to be BRUTAL.
