Spendy Day

I hate credit cards. I hate car repairs. And I hate dentists.

So today, we paid off our lousy, stinking, rotten credit card that has been hanging around our necks for way too long. It felt nice to pay it off, but there were sure a bunch of other places I would have liked to put that money.

We also bought a lovely new muffler and some brakes for Dan's car. Again, many other places that money could have gone that would have been much more exciting.

But we do like driving.

And I thought about going to the dentist. Because my tooth is broken. And I know it is going to start hurting any day now. And I do like eating, too.

But then I decided enough for one day! It is simply too much to bear, to think about credit cards, car repairs AND dental bills all in one day. So I put the dentist off. I think I have a lortab left somewhere.

And THEN, the oddest noises started coming from the dog, who was sleeping soundly on the floor at my feet. Somewhere between a whine and a growl. It is amazing that she could make that much noise and not wake herself up.

I better not be sensing a vet bill coming on.

Even though I do like my dog. Most days.
