The Day Before and The Day After. And The Day After That.

New Jammies for Everyone!
In all the hubbub and hoopla of Christmas, we didn't take a single picture on Christmas Day. We got plenty on Christmas Eve though, and Christmas Cedar Fort, which was the day after Christmas.

Christmas Eve we spent bowling with my family, then went to Grandma's for dinner. We got a great video of our Christmas eve talent show. Audrey and I did an interpretive dance, Alisa assisted Olivia in a jingle bells number, Will played the violin, and then Alisa "read" Where the Wild Things Are using American Sign Language while the rest of the kids acted it out. After that we did a very impromptu Nativity Pageant starring Buck the cat as Baby Jesus. Might not try that again.
This is pre-Christmas Eve festivities, everybody patiently waiting to dig in to the first presents.

At eleven at night, we started decorating cookies for Santa. Everybody got in on the act, even big tough Mitch.

And no, we did NOT use the Salon Care hair color in the gingerbread men. The hair color is a story for another day.

Later that night, Santa came and apparently enjoyed the cookies very much, as evidenced by the mess he left.
Then we got up and had Christmas and opened up a bunch of presents and everybody got what they deserved, and then we laid around the rest of the day and ate too much.

On Sunday, we headed out to Cedar Fort for Christmas, round 3.

Somewhere there are lots of pictures of people eating ham and cousins playing together and then opening presents. But Mitch said that THIS:

....was the best Christmas ever. We drove off in the mud to a spot where he could shoot stuff. Grandpa Dan has some cool guns. That use expensive ammo.

Then the NEXT day we ventured downtown to see the lights, and dragged more cousins along with us. We rode Front Runner and saved us the headache of parking.

It was very cold and very crowded. But Olivia saw this for the very first time and was rather awed.
It was a Merry Christmas. We are already making plans for next year.
