Another exciting Friday night in Syracuse.
Dan and the boys are mowing.
Me and the girls are making fried rice for dinner.
We are catching up on all those boring laundry and housekeeping jobs that got put on hold this week while I was working every day.
The kids and I did get out of the house and up to This is The Place Park. I remembered my camera, but the batteries were dead. So no pictures. But we made candles and found an inchworm and fell in love with a lamb. Olivia was awed by a real spinning wheel and asked an Indian if Indians really exist. Then everybody panned for gold. Then they took the gold to the bank, where you can exchange it for a piece of candy, except that Olivia dropped her gold in the dirt right outside the bank, so the bank lady asked for a song instead. Then Olivia had a meltdown on the spot and refused to sing. It got ugly for a few moments, until she agreed to smile for a piece of candy. Then everything was fine, and she and the bank lady became fast friends.
We stopped at 7-11 on the way home and spent $7.11 on slurpees. What are the chances? I think they should have been on the house.
