Nothing like ending a holiday weekend with the news that you don't have to work on Monday after all. Let the party continue!!
Skeptical. That is how I felt about celebrating the 4th of July in Syracuse. For 12 years in Logan, we carried on the sacred tradition every 4th of hiking the hill to Romney Stadium, and paying money to get a seat at the fireworks show, which everybody said was the best around, set to music and very patriotic. I was sad to miss it this year, and I was sure that nothing here could be as good.
Then we showed up at the Clearfield fireworks, and they completely blew up our nostalgia, and very nearly our minds. They were the BEST crazy fireworks I have ever seen. It was like 20 solid minutes of grand finale. There would be a pause where you would think it must surely be the end, because how could one little city blow up that much stuff? So you would stand up and get ready to pack in your chair, and BOOM, they would start again! After about 4 false endings, the real grand finale came and it was almost unbelievable how loud and bright and long it was. It made Logan's show look like a boring old sparkler.
P.S. 35:02- my time in the 5k we ran Saturday. Not bad, considering we missed the start of the race!
