The Good -The Bad-The Ugly: House
The Good: The porch. Love love love the front porch. Faces south, so you can't really watch the sunsets from the porch, but it is always shady, never too hot or sunny. Enough room for lots of people to sit together. The real reason we bought the house.
The Bad: My appliances hate me. They heard a family of six was moving in and planned a revolt. They are all under warranty, so they are working just well enough that the warranty won't cover them, and just bad enough to make life unpleasant. Doesn't make sense to replace them until the warranty runs out, so we are muddling through, and praying that something will break beyond repair in the next eight months. Everybody told me how much I would love a gas range. Hate it. Miss my smooth top electric range in Logan. Everybody told me how much I would love a side by side fridge. Hate it. Nothing fits. And the dishwasher is being blatantly passive-aggressive towards me.
The Ugly: The unfinished basement family room. I have never seen an uglier room. Mostly because it is filled with piles of our useless crap, which we should part with, but can't because of our unreasonable attachment to it all. And what we really need in that room is piles of money, which is what it is going to take to finish it, and which we are fresh out of. So for the time being, I go down there and stand in the middle of the room and plan and scheme and pretend like the day is soon at hand when that huge room will actually be livable, breathable, usable space.
