Okay, it may be time to panic.
We were supposed to do that whole moving thing this summer, but here comes August, and here we sit. We didn't exactly forget to move, we just never found the time.
More important things kept coming up, like state holidays and family reunions. Every weekend, we would make plans to get something done around the house, and every weekend something would change our plans. Sometimes it was something we could not have gotten out of, like the weekend the canal broke up here, and Dan spent the whole day working on that story. More often, it was something we didn't want to miss, like the 4th of July.
Our absolute, rock bottom final day to have a For Sale sign in our yard was August 1. I don't think we are gonna make that deadline. We still have some (A LOT) of painting to do, walls to scrub, clutter to box up, carpets to clean, and a bathroom cabinet to install. Oh, and a hole in the wall to fix.
The kids have been asking if they have to start school here, or if they can wait til we move. I don't know the answer to that. I don't want to think about school starting. This has been the fastest summer yet, and we are not ready for it to be finished.
