Updates

After a looong stretch of 40 hour work weeks, I have the next week off-and just in the nick of time before I lost my mind. I guess I need to amend that to say that I am off of my paid labor for the week- there is plenty of slave labor piled up around the home front. Good thing I have lots of little slaves around to help. Even though they seem to think they have been sentenced to purgatory whenever work time comes around.

Alisa has safely returned, unpacked and recovered from Europe. Her flight home was delayed two hours, she wound up having to change planes, and the airlines put all the luggage on the wrong plane, but eventually everything wound up back where it belonged.

Duncan is off to youth conference this week. Will is a bit bored, because most of his neighborhood friends are also at youth conference, which he is not old enough to attend. It might be a long weekend for Will. We might have to scare up some school friends to keep him out of trouble.

Dan is off work all next week as well, as part of his unpaid furlough. The time off is great, the unpaid part stinks. We are hoping to use some of that time to spruce up the outside of our house. We were thinking of a good power wash and a fresh coat of paint on our ailing, peeling eaves. Sounds like good times, eh?

Tomorrow, if I can round up the slaves, it will be cleaning off the back patio day. One of my top 10 favorite days of the year-clearing out the cobwebs and old leaves, getting rid of the junk and squirting everything off- I might even get really ambitious and plant a few petunias or something.
