The Finer Things

Last Thursday, January 22, was our 21st wedding anniversary. Makes me feel old to even put than in print....

My thoughtful and sneaky husband planned a whole mini getaway for us. He has done this before, but I admit I have never been very enthusiastic about it, because in years past, he would just put all the charges on a credit card, which I would get in the mail a month later and then I would have to deal with paying an unexpected bill. Happy Anniversary to me.This year, he got smart. He scrimped on his personal expenses for a few weeks, and saved up what he didn't spend on himself so that he could pay for everything without me ever seeing the bill. Pretty smart, huh?

So, we stayed here Thursday night, a cute little bed and breakfast type place on South Temple,

and actually went to a real sit down, uninterrupted (other than Duncan's phone call to complain about Mitch) dinner here,

and the next day, hit,

my favorite store in the whole world. Dan's first trip. He was impressed. We bought a duvet cover, finger puppets, an ice cream scoop, and some toilet brushes. Oh, and of course meatballs.
A summary of our lives right there on the Ikea receipt, which ALSO includes a never-expiring 3% off-your-next-debit-card-purchase there.
