Today was Clean Off the Back Porch Day.
Since the middle of August, our back porch has been so littered with toys, tools, lawn chairs, swimming paraphernalia, squirt guns, dishes, and lost shoes that it was like taking your life in your hands to get out the back door, through all the crap, and onto the lawn. I have been procrastinating and dreading this job for weeks.
It took me 20 minutes.
Sorry, no pictures.
I also returned some overdue library books and cooked dinner. Two more rare events at our house.
I used to be really good at cooking dinner. I signed up for this service where I got weekly menus and shopping lists in my e mail. I found some really good recipes that way, and for a while I was really organized about shopping and cooking. Then I had Olivia and then Dan started working in Salt Lake, and dinner took a major hit. Nobody cared that much about eating, so it was easy to let things slide. It was just easier to pop in some ramen for whoever wanted it, and let everybody else fend for themselves.
But I kind of miss dinner.
