Boot Camp Inches Closer

In less than a month, Mitch will be leaving for boot camp. I have been trying to avoid thinking about it, but the date is inching closer and closer and now it is just too close for comfort. Too close to not think about it. I am really trying to just make this the beginning of a new adventure for our family- another first, where we start a new chapter called Kids Leaving Home and Becoming Independent. The only trouble is not only is he my first kid leaving home for the first time, he is leaving for BOOT CAMP! They are going to be mean to him there! And it's not like he can just turn around and come back home if he doesn't like it. He is pretty much stuck with it. And I won't be able to call and bug him to find out if he is okay, if he is eating, or alive, or sleeping enough. There are good and bad sides to this, but as his mom, I am going to have to work really really hard to not worry my head off about how he is doing and if he is okay. But at least I won't have to worry about him being out all night partying either, at least not for the first three months...
