We bought ladybugs today at the garden store...now there are ladybugs living in our fridge! We turned some of them loose in our garden (which is why we bought them) but Audrey wanted to keep some for a few days as "pets", and we heard they last longer if you keep them cold. So alongside the milk and the mealworms for Will's frog, there is a plastic container of ladybugs. It is kind of sick to see so many little bugs in one spot. There must be a couple hundred in there.
We also bought some seeds for green beans, spinach and peas. I am wondering if it is ever going to warm up enough this summer to grow anything. Here we are in the middle of May and it is still cold! We have had our furnace kick on every night this week. Hope those ladybugs we let out survive out there okay.
