It's official now- Mitch graduated from high school tonight! He actually finished his classwork last February, so it was kind of a long time in coming, but he finally walked the walk tonight, cap and gown and all. He even got awarded a scholarship, which was a complete surprise to all of us! Way to go Mitch! We are really proud of him.
He'll be leaving for boot camp in August, the first of our little chickadees to leave the nest, and the start of a whole new adventure in parenting. He is really going to be totally on his own. That is kind of a scary thought as a mom, you just start to hope you have taught him enough that he will stay out of trouble and be smart about things. Mitch has a good heart though, and has a really strong sense of right and wrong, and he'll be okay. And thank heavens for cell phones- I will probably be on the phone to him every day, making sure he has clean underwear and has brushed his teeth!!!!
