Dog for Sale- Cheap!

As I sit here pondering on what to write today, Maggie is here in the living room barking at nothing again. She has this deep, resonating bark that is loud enough to scare the paint off the walls, and it irritates me beyond what I can put into words. Jack the Ripper could break our front door down, and Maggie would welcome him warmly, but let a cat or a bird wander too close to her territory and she puts up a racket. She is terrified of thunderstorms, has bad gas, and poops in the backyard at least three times a day. She rolls in smelly stuff whenever she gets the chance, so she usually stinks. My vaccuum (and probably Mitch's bed) is full of black dog hair. She sneaks up on the couch for a nap whenever she gets the chance and totally ignores the very nice, soft warm doggie blanket we bought for her. There goes the barking again. She is also chasing and snapping at something in the air that we can't see. I think she needs a Xanax prescription.

The real problem with Maggie though is that when they said "Lab", she thought they said "Lap", and she truly believes she is a lap dog. She can't just lay on the floor at your feet-she wants to lay ON your feet, or even better, lean against your leg, or better yet, crawl right up on your lap. Maybe in her next life she can be a tiny little Yorkie or something.

Maggie can't be beat for love though. She is the most patient, long suffering, loyal canine I have ever met. She gets yelled at for stuff the cats do, sat on, tripped over, and left outside. But she always forgives us and she's always happy to go for a walk or play ball or just hang with us. She's our dog, and I guess we better keep her.
