Last Thursday, we were all here:
at Laguna Beach, enjoying a solitary glorious day of sand and sun.
Don't tell Olivia though.. As far as she is concerned, we were at Malibu Beach. As in Malibu Barbie. Only nowdays, the Barbie that lives in Malibu is a mermaid. And that is why Olivia is absolutely enthralled with Malibu Beach, and wanted to go there SO BAD. So we went to the "Malibu Section" of Laguna Beach.
Even Duncan got in on the tide action for a while.
Oh, the sands of a real beach. We had to bring some home with us. In a bag. On purpose. Not just the stuff that was stuck into every crevice of every part of us and our stuff by the end of the day.
We had these bird eating out of our hand. Then we had them eating out of the air. You could throw a piece of cheese or a grape up in the air, and they would catch it mid-flight. It was very entertaining. They got most of our grapes that way.
And that is a sampling of our day at the beach. On the way home we stopped at Chipotle, in a mall in Irvine. We were loud, damp, sandy and bedraggled, and did not exactly fit in with the mall crowd. We also left piles of sand wherever we sat. I love being a circus wherever we go.
