Today was a lovely day....my first Monday off in many weeks. And there was MUCH to be done today, so it's a good thing I was here to do it all.
The first target goal of the day was to get ready for Valentine's Day tomorrow. Olivia was excited to get her Valentines ready for her class, and spent a good hour addressing, stuffing and filling tiny envelopes. The girls are getting Tangled Valentines, with little erasers inside, and the boys are getting puppy and kitty valentines. Everybody is getting candy. So exciting! Teacher suggested that rather than addressing each Valentine individually, it would be easier to just fill in the FROM part on the Valentine. That way, kids can just stick random Valentines into random boxes tomorrow. But Olivia was having none of that. She was very set on addressing each Valentine to each kid. And each envelope had to have a line on the outside for the name to go on. Then each envelope got a heart sticker too. She was very methodical and precise about the whole process.
We also made Valentines cookies, to be delivered to the neighbors tomorrow. Olivia was a great help.
The other big project of the day was the Green Room. Audrey's room. We finished painting HOORAY and got it mostly put back together. Still needs a curtain, a shelf put up, and a few finishing details, but it is looking great! Oh, and not to worry. This is NOT what the color really looks like. This is just my dumb cell phone camera. The real life version is much less minty and much more limey.
And, believe it or not, on top of painting and baking and Valentining, I also conquered- at least for a day- those two infernal and eternal piles- laundry and bills- that refuse to go away, no matter what I do. No matter how much laundry gets done in one day, there is more tomorrow. No matter how many bills I pay and paper work I sort, there is more tomorrow. But, I will say I was AMAZED at the amount of laundry one person can get done with a fully functioning dryer. Having a new-to-us dryer has been more rewarding than I ever thought possible :)
