Oh Wednesday!

We should be cooking dinner right now, or finishing the cookies we started earlier today, or working on homework.  Instead, we are watching cartoons and eating cookie dough.  And that is about as far as we have gotten since school got out today.    I got a brilliant idea to take a nap this afternoon, but Olivia was having none of that. She was in my room every 7 minutes or so, with a new problem that only I could solve.

The best part of the day so far was singing the national anthem and saying the pledge of allegiance with her first grade class today.  First graders are just awesome.  They are so sweet they just about break my heart.  I wish I could put my first grader on ice and save her the way she is for a few extra years at least.

I also got to talk to Alisa today, via skype.  I don't update much about her, seeing as how she has her own blog, but I think she is settling in nicely.  It's hard to believe she has been gone 5 weeks already.  Her requests for the next package I send? Ramen noodles, Kraft mac and cheese, and a Tide To Go Pen.  And a non-moldy pillow.  I sent her pillow to her, but apparently washing it before sending it was not the best idea.  I really thought I let it dry thoroughly before I packed it.  I set it out in the sun and everything!  But by the time it got to her, it was moldy.  Oh well.  The seven pound box of Oreos I sent her ought to make up for the pillow fiasco.

Okay enough nonsense.  Dinner awaits. And I better put that cookie dough away before somebody gets salmonella.
