First Comes Love

Olivia in the car, on the way home from kindergarten: " Mom, when I get older, I'm going to marry Zachary."

Me: "Oh you are?"

Olivia: "Yeah, I am. He is such a cute little fella."

Me:"He is a cute little fella. But what about Jack? I thought you wanted to marry Jack."

Olivia: "Well, I was going to marry Jack, but then he said he doesn't like mermaids. Zachary likes mermaids. So I want to marry Zachary now."

Is it just me, or could a son-in-law who likes mermaids turn into a problem? Of course, Olivia doesn't see it that way at all. She is blinded by love. I guess all we can do is be supportive, no matter what happens.
