The First Day of New

Getting ready for the second day of school is just as much work as getting ready for the first day, only not as much fun. But, at 9:43 on Monday night, all the school kids are IN BED. Not necessarily asleep, but at least tucked in and out of commission for the night.

After his first day of high school, Duncan is ready for the weekend. He asked me today when Labor Day was. When I asked him how his day went, he sighed and said, "Confusing." Because his high school is on an alternating schedule, tomorrow is another day of firsts all over again. Most of his classes tomorrow are in one building though, and he has seminary, so it should be an easier day for him.

Will and Audrey did fine. We issued a challenge to them to meet one new kid every day. Audrey met a girl named Sarah who is also new to the school. Will met a kid named Bailey who lockers by him. He also strongly dislikes his math teacher already, since she was rude enough to give homework on the first day. He didn't have any complaints about anything else, though and Audrey says her teacher is really nice. We are waiting to exhale until the rest of the week is over.

Olivia also got to go to kindergarten for an hour, and met her teacher and had a tour of the school. Other than a minor melt down about not wanting to leave behind a certain puzzle, she had a great time. There are seven or eight other kids from our ward in the AM kindergarten, (yes, AM, not PM, which is the subject for another post) and she was really excited to see her church friends there. She doesn't officially start until next week.

So now we move on to day two. One day down, 179 more to go.
