Audrey and I were out for an evening stroll a few nights ago, and she was in one of her talkative moods, which always makes me happy. Out of the blue, she asked me this:
"Do you think that if we ever get to meet God, He would answer our questions?"
I thought to myself, Oh! How sweet! She is starting to think about the big questions in life. I better answer correctly on this one. I don't want to damage her budding faith/inquisitiveness here. So I answered:
"Oh, I'm sure He will, and I really hope He does, because I have a LOT of questions I would like answered."
"Me too." said Audrey
"What would you ask Him?" I say, expecting to hear something like, where did God come from, how did the universe get made, or maybe even something like are aliens real? Whatever it is, I am mentally trying to prepare myself for some in-depth theological discussion.
And here are Audrey's questions for God:
"So first I really want to know if I was right or Alicia was right about whose pizza slice it was, because I KNOW it was mine, but she really thinks it was hers. And then, I want to ask Him if it was me or Will that said "Go get her Lucy!" first. He says he made it up, but I think I did."
"Those are your questions for God?" I said. "You want to know who the pizza slice belonged to?"
"Well, yeah, because it's really bugging me."
I love that girl. She keeps it real.
