Hand Me Down

A few weeks ago my dad sent me some pictures of Audrey in her younger days. Here she is at age four:

Take notice of the adorable size 4 Old Navy denim capris she is wearing? Loved those pants. We had forgotten all about them, but just a few days after we saw this picture, I was digging around in some boxes of kids clothes and voila! stumbled upon the capris. I grieved for a few moments that I had not pulled them out earlier in the year for Olivia, but she can still get a few months use out of them.

So here are the capris, round deux.

Olivia, age 4:

I look at those little pants and I could get all misty-eyed, thinking of kids growing up and growing out, and of little clothes and toys that stay behind. But unfortunately, there is not a lot of time today for sentimentality. There IS a very dirty house to clean, a birthday party to shop for, and some fun that needs to be had. We are living in the moment today.

P.S. The dragonfly shirt is a hand me down as well. Audrey wore it and wore it and wore it until I was sick of it and had to hide it. Olivia loves it just as much, and pulls it on every chance she gets.

P.P.S. Take notice too of the same crappy kitchen floor that has needed replacing for at least the past four years.
