After a restless night, Olivia woke up sick this morning. She wasn't too bad off, but she was coughing and sneezing, and too sick for preschool. Dan had an appointment, and I had to work, so it was Grandma and Grandpa to the rescue again. Livvi got to spend her day at Grandma's and Papa's, being fed and doted on and pampered. And I got to spend my day without worrying about her. I thank Heaven that my parents have been up here with us the past two years. I don't know how we would have functioned without them. Well, okay, we would have functioned somehow, but it would be much harder and not near as much fun. They live just right up the road from us, and have always been around for babysitting, dinners, birthday celebrations, support staff, and cheerleading. I know they miss their "real" house, their neighbors, friends and family. And I know we oftentimes we drive them crazy with our noise and our mess, our crazy schedules and our inability to keep track of our cell phones. But I hope they know how much we love having them up here, and how much we will miss them when it comes time for them to leave. And it's not just the convenience they add to our lives that we will miss. The kids are going to miss having another "home" to go hang out in, where they can relax and eat ice cream. Livvi will miss holding court with Papa, and playing with Grandma. And I will miss just being able to drop in on them, or call them up at a moment's notice for a lunch date or a trip to Sams. Gosh, I'm getting all teary eyed just thinking about it! Maybe we can find a house in THEIR neighborhood.
Now I am off to re-dress(not redress) my daughter for the fourth time tonight. She is a natural born stripper! No pole jokes please.
