Rite of Passage

Just a few days ago, I was reading Alice's blog (The Metcalf Five) and chuckling to myself as she lamented over Laurel, age 5, who had just given herself another haircut. It's pretty funny when somebody else's kid hacks into their own hair, or better yet, the neighbor kid's hair. Then, yesterday, I made the mistake of leaving Olivia alone with scissors for 30 seconds. Literally, 30 seconds. This was the result:
