Here is our version of gingerbread house for 2008, a wonder to behold...
It's a wonder that there was this much candy left that made it on to the house. Even with threats of beheading, I could not stop my crew from eating the materials.
It's a wonder that I sat back and let the kiddos have at. Gingerbread houses are my thing, and I really really really really want them to be perfectly decorated. But I restrained myself, and let everybody stick random bits of candy all over the roof in no particular pattern. And it was beautiful. I still had control of the mortar though.
It's a wonder we got a shot of the house before candy started disappearing off of it. I started out telling them they couldn't eat anything off of the house until after Christmas, but I lost. It was a battle just not worth fighting. Right now, the house is intact on a shelf in the living room, but there is very little candy left on it. Yes, I could have put it up somewhere out of reach, but where would the fun be in that?
