Alisa

Alisa was a little ruffled when she found out about this family blog, and very worried about who might be looking at it and what I had said about her. I think she calmed down a bit when she found out that basically nobody looks at it except us, and I hadn't written that much about her. Then I realized that I hadn't written that much about her! So I decided she needed her own little spot on here.

Alisa just turned 17, is a junior in high school, works as a server at a nearby restaurant, and is an all around great kid. I guess I can still call her a kid for a few more years. She had a lot of tough classes in school this year, and has had loads of homework and stress on her this year. But she also figured out what she might want to do career wise this year too. She is thinking she wants to go into special ed. She was in the special needs seminary this year as an assistant, and really enjoyed working with the kids. Then she signed up to be a peer tutor, which is just helping out as an aide in the special ed classes in school, and she has had fun doing that too. She signed up for some more related classes for next year, so we'll see how she feels by this time next year, but I am glad that she has some sort of direction to aim. She is light years ahead of where I was at her age.

She also made the school play for next year, and is going to be on the newspaper staff, so she will be busy next year too, but I think she has a lighter class load for next year too. After that she is thinking about going to either BYU, SUU or Dixie. She wants to move away from home, if you can't tell. Oh, and she was on the track team this year, kind of. She hurt her leg early on and it took about six weeks to get better and then the weather was so crappy this year, she hasn't done as much with it as she had hoped. She did develop a great love for soccer this year, but she will have to tell you more about that. She has also become a bit of a Jazz fan this year too.

These days, she spends most of her free time texting.

I haven't told her for a while, but she is one of my (our) greatest blessings!
